As you read the headlines, listen to the media and look around the world, it becomes obvious that fear is the basis of decisions being made by individuals, communities and even governments. For most people, these fears include the fear of losing money, losing power and even the fear of death. Fear influences so many aspects of life and yet there is only one thing that can drive someone more than fear and that is their destiny. Ironically, many people know their fears, but very few know their destiny.
The science of the cards uniquely reveals one’s destiny with astounding accuracy and can easily be verified just by looking at people in the limelight who know nothing about this system. One’s destiny is found in the 13th card of their Life Spread. (There is a chart of Birth Cards and Destiny Cards in the article below.)
Our Destiny Card reveals our highest potential for this lifetime. The ability to reach this level of our being ultimately leads to the greater good of all. For example, let’s take a look at American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey. She was born January 29, 1954 and her Birth Card is a Jack of Clubs, the mentally creative card.
The Destiny Card for Oprah Winfrey’s Jack of Clubs Birth Card is the Queen of Hearts. It is known as the Mother Card. Many people see Oprah, with her generosity and love of giving, as a sort of a loving mother who gives tirelessly to her children, family and community.
As you may know, Oprah’s generosity has extended to giving away cars and just about anything else one can imagine to hundreds, if not thousands, of people. Oprah’s power, both financial and spiritual, allows her to engage in the philanthropic giving at levels beyond what most of us can imagine. Every day this Queen of Hearts Destiny Card encourages Oprah, and anyone else who has a Jack of Clubs Birth Card, to reach their highest potential by giving and nurturing others through generosity and love.

| What is the Destiny Card?
The Destiny Card represents the final destination, the final role we play, the person we become in this lifetime. I have studied my King of Clubs Destiny Card Author of Love Cards and Cards of Your Destiny, Robert Lee Camp, calls this card the “X” Card and the “Transformed-Self” Card. In one of his articles, he wrote that ultimately he would like to call this 13th card of our Life Spread, the “Galactic” Card. He describes this card as the expression of who we are on a galactic level, or the level beyond Earth. To understand this, he explains that we have to step back from ourselves and imagine the bigger picture of who we are. The card that we are now, our Birth Card, is firmly rooted in our birth here on planet Earth. The Galactic Card (Destiny Card) would be our more universal identity. Camp says, “By virtue of having been born here on this planet, we are under the influences of the planet. But when we venture beyond this planet, what will happen? Now, there are few of us that will ever experience travel to other places beyond Earth, at least among those of us alive today. But I think that before long it will be commonplace to be born on different worlds and to travel to different worlds. But even if you are not born on another planet or travel to one, your Galactic Card has great meaning. It may be the biggest version of you that could be imagined. Think of your Galactic Card as the most universal part of you, the part that is connected not just to mundane things, but also to other realms and extraordinary vibrations. It is the Super-You. It is a higher identity so I would always interpret the card on the high side of its expression. So, for example if your Galactic Card was a Three, like the Three of Hearts or the Three of Diamonds, your cosmic identity would be creative, an artist of sorts. So, when you look at your Galactic Card, always interpret it in its highest and most positive light.”
Because the cards also identify people in our lives, meeting someone who is our Destiny Card should be a good connection. This person may show the way to our true role in a more universal sense. Whether we take advantage of this relationship to learn more about their expression of this card is completely up to us. In many ways they can be like the North Star, guiding us to travel beyond the bounds of our mundane existence and lead us to higher expressions of reality. | What Does It Mean?
In the science of the cards, we know that the number 13 is significant for many reasons. There are 13 lunar cycles each year, 13 weeks in each season, and, of course, 13 cards in each of the four suits, starting with the Ace and ending with the King. In Tarot, the 13th card in the Major Arcana is related to death and transformation. It is appropriately called the Death Card. Notice the skeleton in black armor mounted on a white horse stepping over a body that looks like a king. While the Death Card is hard to look at, keep in mind that we die and are reborn every time we give up an old habit, find a new attitude, move to a new home, change jobs, end a relationship, or even begin a new one. We die a thousand deaths in one lifetime. Like a skeleton, all great transformations start by removing everything down to the bare bone so something new has room to grow. We continually have to let go of things or people we cherish in order to make way for something new and to experience new growth as we travel along our spiritual path toward our ultimate destination. Our Destiny Card shows us exactly what that destination is. When we embrace the positive side of our Destiny Card, we can see the opportunities that our “losses” provide and thus transform them into blessings. By doing so, we transform ourselves for the positive as well. |
In our Life Spreads, we find the Destiny Card is the 13th card, which represents the transformed self or new person that we become later in life. Card-wise, it represents a complete cycle since the King is the 13th card in each suit and he contains all the wisdom that his suit offers, having the sum total of all the other cards of his suit within him. This 13th card represents the completed cycle of death and rebirth in the transformation from our Birth Card to our Destiny Card.

The Mayan Way – Simple and Sacred!
Every day of the year has a particular card and with that card comes specific energies, experiences and even karma that affect your life that day.
The “natural” card for each day influences you even if it is not your Birth Card or your Planetary Ruling Card. For example, anyone born today would be a Ten of Diamonds person. Even though today is not your birthday, the Ten of Diamonds influences you and everyone else on the planet. These universal energies affect all of us. There is much you can discover about the cards, their meanings and the universal energies coming each day by reading the Card of the Day!
Since the Card of the Day email service launched last August, I have noticed more than ever how this natural card of the day impacts our lives and now better understand the power that it contains. That is why I am dedicated to continue offering this free service.
Several years ago, I wrote a novel called Flying Between Heaven and Earth that includes information about the Mayan Sacred Calendar. I also taught weekly classes about the Maya in Southern California. In my research about this ancient civilization, I came to discover that there are universal energies which are unique to each day of the year and the Maya them used them to enhance their experience of life.
Dr. Jose Jaramillo, a professor of the Maya at UCSD in La Jolla, CA, interviewed me for his latest documentary called “The Alignment Within” which was released this year. In the film, everyone interviewed spoke about how these energies affect everyone on the planet. The Maya simply used different animals and elements in their glyphs to express these sacred energies. Although the symbols in the cards are different from Mayan glyphs, they offer similar wisdom and knowledge that we, too, can use personally and professionally to enhance our experience of life.
One practice that the Maya performed daily is after sunset they the studied the glyph for the next day. Before going to sleep, they would simply ask and pray that they could use these upcoming universal energies in a way that would enhance their life and their community. They understood that each day brings a sacred gift and asked that they use this gift from the universe for the highest good of all.
Unfortunately, most people in our society see life as a merry-go-round where each day is basically the same as the next. Our modern day culture doesn’t recognize these unique daily energies. I am honored to continue this ancient sacred tradition with those who subscribe to the Card of the Day! email service and celebrate each card and the universal power it contains to affect positive change in their lives and the world around them.
The Maya were master timekeepers and understood that life is so easy when we are in the divine flow with time. Every day I see how these cards play out magically for myself and others. Many days I feel that I am just writing the Card of the Day for myself. The accuracy is astounding if you pay attention and watch how things unfold. Because so people many are busy with family, friends and careers and don’t read emails until the end of the day, the Card of the Day! will now be emailed at sunset the previous day so that everyone can go bed prayerfully anticipating the new energies of the card for the next day. It is Interesting that two people who totally changed my view of the world are both King of Clubs, the Destiny Card for my Birth Card, the Queen of Diamonds. One of them, a former engineer at Lockheed, introduced me to the Sacred Science of the Cards and Robert Lee Camp’s books back in 2000. To him, I am eternally grateful. The other King of Clubs, a publisher, opened my eyes to a new reality and encouraged me to finish writing my book, Flying Between Heaven and Earth. As you may know, I was a flight attendant for many years. What you don’t know is that whenever there was an opportunity to sit by the window during takeoff, I would rush over to watch people, cars, buildings, airports and cities become smaller and smaller as we ascended to cruise attitude. Looking out in the distance, I tried to imagine how all of life could work without a plan and a purpose. Like an inquisitive child who relentlessly asks “Why? Why? Why?” about what they are told, I also wanted to know the reason for everything–and still do. The science of the cards has shown me the “Why?” about the purpose of life on many levels, especially my own life and that of others. Just like a flight plan that takes us from one destination to another, our cards do the exact same thing. They are the map that shows where we are taking off, where we will be landing, what kind of ride it is going to be, who will be traveling with us, where the turbulence is and how long the flight is going to take. Most importantly our cards reveal the purpose of the trip and clearly answers the “Why? Why? Why?” for every moment along the way. | What is the Cosmic Lesson?
There is a time and reason for everything in our lives–especially the lessons. The lessons, like every part our life, can be found in the cards. The main one to look for is called the Cosmic Lesson Card. It answers the “Why? Why? Why” and appears in every spread of the cards–our Life, 7-Year, 1-Year, 7-Week and Weekly spreads. When you study the cards, you’ll discover that you are never a victim. Nothing is done to you, only for you–for the lesson you are to learn. I know that is a hard pill to swallow, especially when it comes to tragic things like rape and murder, but the lesson is always there, whether we like it or not. That is why it is a lesson. It is something we need to learn. Our life has lessons in each and every moment. It is up to us to discover what they are and learn from them in a positive way. If not, then we have to learn them the hard way, and over and over again, until we get it. Learn them we must, for the evolution of our soul. Our Cosmic Lesson Card represents limitations, responsibilities and lessons to be learned, but it does differ from our Saturn Card as it expressed on a more universal, more cosmic level. The term “cosmic” implies an influence that is more expanded and related to the world around us, not just our personal life. Since Saturn is often connected to our work or occupation, we can also look to the Cosmic Lesson Card for more about our work or career. The Cosmic Lesson indicates a role we must play to fulfill our responsibility to the world. It is not be interpreted as something negative or to be feared but represents the opportunity for us to rise up and act a certain way to fulfill our karmic debt to the universe and move closer to our destiny.
You can easily find your life’s lesson in this chart by counting 10 spaces to the left of your Birth Card. When you come to the end of the row, drop down one row and continue to count from right to left to find your Cosmic Lesson Card. For example, I am the Queen of Diamonds (Q♦) and my life lesson is represented by the Seven of Spades (7♠) known as the Faith Card. This often brings about health or work challenges to test my sense of well being throughout my life. Just look at the scars and injuries that I have had and you will know this is must be true! My lifetime lesson is to trust, keep the faith and persevere in spite of the tests that life continually delivers. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Queen of Diamonds as well. The Cosmic Lesson Card is of tremendous importance for everyone in understanding their life’s script and helps them shine in the role they are playing in this magical drama called “Life” here on planet Earth! January brought us the 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards and now February brings us the 84th Academy Awards on the 26th to recognize excellence in the film industry, including directors, actors, and writers. In my research of understanding the deeper meaning of life, how our lives are laid out from birth to death, and in my own life drama, I have come to realize that even though our souls chose the divine plan for us for this lifetime, it is our choice how we perceive it. That is our free will. So the the question becomes how do we perceive our life, our drama. Is it a comedy or a tragedy? Some of my students have joked that their life is a tragic comedy. Ultimately it is our choice how we play out our lives, our scripts each and every day regardless of what happens. When you know your cards and what your script is, you can live a life that will win you an award for all eternity. Don’t disappoint the Creator of this drama with a boring performance! The only thing that each of us has is time and the choice on how we use it. Remember, time is priceless yet it costs you nothing. You can do anything you want with it, but you can’t keep it. You can spend time, but you can’t own it. Once you have lost time, there is no getting it back. It is just gone…forever.  What is an Environment Card?
The Environment Card represents someone or something that will act in a beneficial manner for you throughout a particular time frame like a year for example. It is an area where things will come easily to you, where positive things related to that card just flow your way. It is always a good thing regardless of which card of the deck it is. Your yearly Environment Card is merely the card that sits in the same position that your Birth Card occupies in the Grand Solar Spread (same as the Life Spread or Quadration for Age 0). I like to explain the Environment Card in terms of a Monopoly game. In many ways your Birth Card rules over or owns that particular location in the Grand Solar Spread. Each year all the cards (except the 3 fixed and 4 semi-fixed) move through the process of quadration. Whatever card moves to your location, they have to pay you in some way–like they are renting your place on a Monopoly board. Remember, your Environment Card tells you what and who you will continually collect good things from. This card and/or person is always a blessing, helpful and protective. |

2012 is finally here and this is going to be a year of choices, important ones, and there are many to be made. Not just for you and me personally but for corporations, governments, countries, and humanity itself. Today I would like to discuss the choice we must make between fate and destiny. You may be asking, “What is the difference between the two?” Please allow me to explain.
It’s human instinct to reach for the familiar and what is comfortable, but the soul is here for experience, not security. A life without risk, loss, death and pain is hardly vitalized. The more we resist the call to adventure, the more we fate ourselves to a life of disappointment, remorse and suffering of the worst kind. If this is the path we choose, life will often deliver increasingly drastic events until we finally give up the ego’s hold on our soul’s schedule and allow the next chapter of our purpose–our destiny–to unfold.
It’s the ego that experiences the inherent fear of change, not the soul. Every day we hear two competing voices, one belongs to the ego (fate) and that of the soul (destiny). The ego speaks through our fears, our past and our wounds. The soul communicates through our intuition, dreams, synchronicity, divine intervention, and even the regrets that tug at our heart. Both voices continually compete to guide the choices we make each and every moment of each and every day.
For example, in the area of love, the voice of fate says, “What are you thinking?! The last time you took a risk in love, you got hurt. You know that you only attract men who abandon you. What do you think you’re doing by opening your heart again?” The voice of destiny says, “Yes, you’ve had some painful experiences in the past, but you have grown so much. This man really likes you, so give him–and yourself–a chance. Don’t you want to feel love again? You have nothing to fear because you will not abandon yourself. How will you know if you don’t try? This is the present moment of all possibility. Open your heart and go for it!”
In Robert Ohotto’s book, Transforming Fate into Destiny, he says that “living life in alignment with your highest potential is often full of surprises–some joyful, some painful–but when you embrace the choice of destiny, you know you are alive! When you can say to yourself, ‘I never thought I would __________,’ whatever fills that blank space is your DESTINY!“
2012 can be just another year of fate or it can be your year of destiny. The choice is yours. What is a Displacement Card?
A Displacement Card usually indicates an area where you will have to pay closer attention in order to have success for a certain time period. It can be a person or thing that requires you to give them extra energy in order for that person or thing to be of benefit in your life. It can also signify special events that only come in certain times of your life.
In many ways, the Displacement Card has the opposite influence in your life than that of the Environment Card, where things come easily to you. The Displacement Card represents things that come with effort and struggle. Whatever this card represents will be a drain on your energy or resources. If it is the card of someone you know, then a payment of some type will need to be made throughout that time period in one form or another. This payment can be just paying attention to them or listening for a special message or request that, if acted upon, will impact your life.

Giving thanks at this time of year is a tradition that started in America several hundred years ago as there was much to be thankful for. However, we can give thanks every day of our lives and I know many people do. Yet, how many people are thankful for the perceived “bad” experiences or things that happen in their lives too?

Fall is in the air and so is change. Look all around you. Look around the world, too. Change, change and more change. I often joke that even change is changing! The human race is all about change and change is our destiny as a species.
In the science of the cards and in numerology, the number “5″ represents change. And so it is with the human body. We have 5 digits on each hand and foot. We have 5 holes in our head – two ears, two nostrils, and a mouth. We also have 5 senses-sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste. Additionally we have 5 appendages- two legs, two arms and one head. With all these 5s, mankind is destined to change and evolve in each and every moment of each and every day!
The word ‘change’ is used frequently in our everyday world, including presidential campaigns, social movements, and global platforms addressing climate change. Even Mahatma Gandi stated “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I agree wholeheartedly; however, there is another change that we are here for and that is a change or transformation on a soul level. None of us came into the world to remain the same. It is absolutely impossible. Change we must!
In the science of the cards, the soul’s desire for our personal change is clearly laid out in our Life Spread. The card that describes this change is called the Pluto Card. Like plutonium, it defines the change and transformation that will occur in this lifetime. Robert Lee Camp calls it the “gateway to your life’s destiny” and that it may very well be the most important card in our Life Spread.
Last week we saw Steve Jobs go through the ultimate change as he transitioned to the ‘other side’ on October 5th. His Life Pluto Card was the Queen of Spades, the Card of Self-Mastery. On a soul level, this card asked him to learn to master himself within and watch how the world around him would change as well. This means creating more success by changing his inner thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes instead of trying to alter his external circumstances. Taking a close look at Steve’s life, one would have to agree that was the driving force in his life.
I invite all of you to look more closely at the cards handed to you on your birthday. By knowing your Pluto Card, and your other cards, you can live an enlightened life, flowing with divine creation and live in alignment with your higher spiritual purpose.

Steve Jobs health challenges and even his death are clearly reflected in his cards based on his birth date of February 24, 1955. Fame and Glory! Who are the people destined to have it and who are not? Once again your birthday is the key to unlocking this information and also knowing when you will achieve it. At the top of the Life Spread, the matrix of all the cards we are born into, sits the Crown Line–the line of Fame and Glory. While it may sound like a wonderful place to be, surrounded with all the material things that life has to offer, there are challenges and even karma that has to be overcome in order to achieve the highest expression that these cards offer!

The BBC’s David Sillito recently stated, “Her private life was something of a mess.” Since July 23rd, 2011 tributes from around the world have been paid to Amy Winehouse. The popular British Grammy award-winning singer, age 27, struggled with alcohol and drug addiction and had recently spent time in rehab. I truly wish that Amy had known about her cards, the Ten of Clubs 10♣ and the Eight of Diamonds 8♦, which are both on the Crown Line–the line of fame and glory–in the Grand Solar Spread. I feel that if she had understood the meaning of her cards, their gifts, their challenges and associated karma (The Queen of Spades Q♠, the Card of Self-Mastery, and the Jack of Spades J♠, the Card of the Spiritual Initiate), she could have successfully mastered her life, and her world, and would still be with us….more |
*Note that Amy’s Cosmic Lesson and Result Card for this lifetime was the Seven of Hearts. This means that jealousy, fearful attachments and betrayal could cause considerable emotional trauma during her life. This, in turn, would have a negative effect on her health. She would feel betrayed by someone or situations that threatened her sense of security in her personal relationships.
This card placement challenged her to practice non-attachment in her closest relationships and to overcome her fears of abandonment. The Seven of Hearts Cosmic Lesson can make one feel as though they are being forced to make sacrifices, but if they apply their wisdom to these situations, one could learn the true value of unconditional love…for others and themselves. A Machete instead of a King’s Sword?

“Know thyself!” is the famous quote from Socrates, the ancient Greek philosopher, arguing that we must know ourselves to be wise and that the unexamined life is not worth living. The cruel irony Socrates experienced was that he was condemned to death for allegedly corrupting the youth, for opening their minds by educating them with philosophy and arguing that people were ignorant of the truth.
Ironically in our world today, there are numerous methods of “knowing thyself” through astrology, numerology and the science of cards. Yet, many choose to live a life of ignorance, of not knowing who they are and why they are here, preferring to live a life without purpose and direction, subject to the capricious winds of chance. Maybe Socrates was right–that an unexamined life is not worth living. How closely have you examined your own life?

Why Do So Many Die at Age 52?
At Age 52, called the Critical Year, we reach a place where we have lived out much of our divine purpose and get to choose whether or not to stay on the planet. Everyone gets to ask themselves on a soul level if they want to continue to live or leave this lifetime. I have noticed in my own family and with friends, and even with celebrities, that opportunities disguised as health issues or accidents happen within a year or so of this age to help provide us that very choice. | What is a Long Range Card?
Even though our Birth Card is the most important card in understanding who we are, it is not the only card in this system that is significant, especially when we look at our weekly, yearly and 7-year spreads. Our Long Range Card is perhaps the most important card of any spread. It defines something or someone that will be a major focus of our attention. It is neither positive nor negative. It is a place where a lot of our time, energy or attention will be spent in that time period.
For example, if you have a Ten of Hearts (10♥) Long Range Card for the year, it tells you that success, recognition, and popularity will come to you in that time period. Especially favored are activities dealing with the public or large groups. This recognition will play an important role in your life depending upon the other circumstances of your life. Perhaps you are in a business where you want more exposure and recognition. This is an excellent indication that you will meet with great success in those areas. This is one of the best cards for performers, the Ten of Hearts (10♥) indicating large groups of people favorably disposed towards you. In general, this is one of the best influences to have.
